Joe Smith's - Pendulum Dowsing Lesson

This lesson was written in Sept 2003 by Joe Smith for a dowsing list, it was originally given in a series of 4 Posts over several days. I will present them here as 4 Separate Lessons

The Pendulum - Lesson One
by Joe Smith

To start with you need a pendulum. A nut on a string, a ring on a string, a locket with a chain, Almost any thing will do the trick. Later you may find you have preference for different pendulums.

Ok we are ready to start. I hope most of you have gotten your letter to Robin by now, if not get it off the net (http://www.lettertorobin.org/) or I'll send you one. It is very self explanatory. There are pictures, diagrams and charts also . So pay attention and go to the ASD web site (http//www.dowsers.org/) and unload it or I'll send you one for $3.00 + postage.

So find something to make that pendulum and we will start tomorrow. For those that have already got their book and pendulum. We can start now.

The shorter the string or chain the faster it will react. Ok to start with let your pendulum down through your thumb and forefinger, all the while making it swing back and forth. When you reach a point that you have a nice steady swing stop there and go with that for now.

For this lesson group use the back and forth motion for your yes and the sideways motion for your no. Like shaking your head No. Walt likes to use the 45* angle for a ready position. I never do but if you are using the book by all means do that if you want. Walt suggests you find a comfortable place to learn this work. . Like in the mornings set down with a cup of coffee and work with the pendulum every day if you can. Just a short 5 minutes will be a start.

Take a piece of paper and place a cross line on it and then one at an 45 degree through that. Now Fred if you had the book you could see what to do and this lesson would be un-necessary. It is all in the book . But anyway get your yes and no answers down pat. I don't care if you get the ready or not as I use the yes motion for that also. The pendulum is sitting there in a yes motion kind of idling any way and you ask a question that takes a yes answer it will just keep on going yes yes yes yes. But if the answer is no it will change real quick. If you are having trouble , make the pendulum give you the correct answers to start with. I won't tell on you.

Your chain or string should be about 3-4 " long , no longer, between your finger and the pendulum. The chain can be 2 " long but the length between the two points should be no more than 4". Practice this much .  Joe

Lesson 2

Depending on the person when I pick up a pendulum I'm in alpha just like that. I'm sure that 29 years of dowsing has something to do with that. The hardest thing about dowsing is getting removed from the subject, being neutral at all times. You can't let the answer to the dowsing problem make any difference to to. Like I say it is hard to do but that is the only way to get correct answer. You must!! get the $$ signs out of your eyes before you dowse. Example would be counting the money from an oil well before it is even dowsed or drilled. Dowsing the out come of a horse race you have money on. Things like that. One way to get yourself into alpha is to sit in a quiet place and count backwards from a hundred to 0 . Fact is it might put you deeper than that. But even easier than that is just ask your pendulum to please place you in alpha and watch it for a short time. It should be turning in a clockwise motion and as soon as it quits you are ready to dowse. Dowsing is just as hard as you want to make it or as easy as you want to make it. It is a natural ability that we all have. You do not have to belong to any church or special club or believe in any thing only that it does work. . Leave religion out of it. Your pendulum can almost talk to you though all the different moves it can do, if you can just learn to interrupt them. The standard yes-no moves you already know. The this is oil, or this is gas.. the action might look the same for you but as you get into dowsing you will understand. When crossing a water vein you can ask for the energy that is being produced, same with an oil or gas vein. The pendulum will spin a circle both clockwise and counter clockwise. For oil it will spin clockwise and for gas counter clockwise. The rate of spin is an indication as to the energy in the zones. Also if you were in heavy oil the spin would almost drag, especially with an L rod. I can't began to tell you of all the variations of all the moves that take place. Almost as if the tools are talking to you. Spirit guide signal in like a *, the pendulum will make elongated circles while rotating around at the same time. Each guide will be just a little different from the last one. Just start your pendulum in a yes motion and ask for "your" spirit guide to come in and watch the pendulum. When you are dowsing in a strong gas zone the pendulum will almost lift up in its moves, kind of jump at the end of it swing. The yes-no moves are really just the tip of the iceberg. Have fun. Joe

Lesson 3 - The Body Scan

The Body Scan is as follows. Draw the outline of the human form on a sheet of paper. Place the persons name and any other thing that identifies them to you, age what ever. Now take your pendulum and ask for just past injuries and operations on this person. BUT make sure you have permission from THAT person. Like Walt mentions and I have said many times. Don't invade someone's private business. Take the Pendulum and start at the feet, first one and then the other. You use a search motion which is the same as your yes motion. when you come across a spot just mark an X and go on up the leg. When you hit a spot where there was an injury, the pendulum will swing in a circle. Mark it and move on to the next one. When you hit an area, say in the lower stomach area , ask if it is in front or back, could be back operation or a hernia operation. The size of the circle will tell you how serious the injury was, small circle , minor problem. larger circle bigger problem. Set up a line of questions of all the things it could be, broken arm broken leg?? what ever. could be an old war injury. That's where the questions come in. But you first need to learn how to use that Pendulum. So when you want to try this out Just use me as a target, Joe Smith 71 years old, Johnson NE. When every one is through I will tell it all and you can find out just how good you are with the body scan. Walt doesn't mention the body scan but does mention that it is against most state laws to diagnose with out a license. By looking for past injuries you are not breaking the law and you have my permission. So now you have a target to work on. One hint to help you. There are lots of places to mark. This is a good exercise for some of you expert dowsers, unless you are afraid to try. Also, when doing the body scan , draw another outline for the back side. That way if the person has had injuries on that side it is easier to locate. Joe

Lesson 4

Well, are you pendulum workers ready to go out doors before the snow flies, may be to late in Wy., Michigan. Any way lets go out and try to find a water vein with the pendulum. First of all to dowse a water vein , place your pendulum in a search motion ( the yes motion) . Now stand in one spot and turn around asking which way to go to find the best vein of water in your space (lot). When you find the right direction it will circle in a clockwise motion. . You now have the direction to walk (slowly) in. Ask for the edge of the water vein. When you reach the outside of the vein the pendulum could do two things . It could swing sideways, parallel to the vein or merely just swing in a clockwise motion. OK you found the edge of the vein , now ask for the middle of the vein... then the other side. Go back to the middle of the vein. Ask the pendulum which way it is flowing (the water vein) Watch the pendulum's front edge. It will show you the direction of flow (letter to Robin explained this front edge or front send of the swing). Lets see how deep it is to the top of the the water vein first ,Ask the pendulum if the top of the vein is below 20 ft and so on till you get a no swing then back up one number and start with smaller, like 21, 22, 23, and so on till you get it within a foot. You now know how deep it is to the top, now ask how deep the zone is, 1', 2', and so on till you get a no. Now ask how many gallons will it produce year around per minute. Use the same type questions to find out probable production of the well. There are a lot more questions to ask or to use in your program if and when you ever start to seriously look for a well for yourself or some one else. But if you find you vein and answer all the question you will come a long ways to learning the uses of the pendulum. Good luck. Joe
