Reduce Conscious Influence When Dowsing
Who hasn't had trouble with conscious influence over the pendulum. There are several things you might try to reduce your conscious influence. When preparing for all dowsing sessions try to come from a space of curiosity.
You must remain in a state of "I wonder....", "I wonder what the answer will be..." etc. when dowsing. Not this is how I think it will be and I just want the pendulum to confirm.... Often then the pendulum confirms what you have already set in stone in your mind. This often leads to folks saying the pendulum lied when what we thought was going to be... turned out to be wrong. We did not allow our subconscious to give the answer. Our conscious mind is in control at that point because the decision is already made and of course there is a ready scapegoat if it turns out that our conscious mind /decision was wrong... since the pendulum confirmed.... we blame the pendulum. Give up on your conscious expectations of the answer and allow your subconscious to show you the answer.
One way may be to set your intention to remove all conscious influence in your prepare to dowse stage. I want all external influences, thoughts, hope, desires, thought forms etc that may influence my dowsing to be removed Now. Thank You (I always give thanks after I dowse as I am grateful for all information received. It is also an indication to my subconscious self or my dowsing system that I have received the answer and am ready to dowse the next question and receive the next answer with gratefulness.
Another way might be to have a dowsing buddy. Often when I ask my dowsing buddy to dowse a question for me I will inform them I have an issue and I have written it down in a question or a series of Yes and No questions and can they please dowse each question and give me the answer. Receiving the answer from the universe.
Another way if you do not have a dowsing buddy or your dowsing buddy is not available then I write my questions on a blank index card. I then put the index card in a plain envelope. I shuffle the envelopes and then dowse over each envelope for the answer. This way I am blind dowsing and I am not influencing the answer I receive I am allowing the Universe to supply me with the most appropriate answer. Again I give thanks for my answers.
Now what I do if I am concerned that I will influence my dowsing over a chart due to wishes etc is to one I try not to read the items on the chart. If my dowsing system has indicated that a specific chart should be used then I just set right to dowsing it without prior review. I also do 'soft focus' on the chart. Where I look at the chart but soften my vision to see the whole thing and not focus on any one item. Ask my question and allow the pendulum to move also without focusing on where the pendulum is pointing. Only when I receive a strong answer do I read what is indicated on the chart.
We are all different with different experiences and memories. Use what methods and rules work for you. Be a detective in your own well being.
Hope this information helps.....
Oh and while I'm on this subject I have created a chart on possible causes for incorrect answers if you want to have a look at it you can view it at this link
Jaine offered her method of reducing Conscious Influence, I double check my answers by writing down my questions and numbering them. When done I take a piece of paper or fold the original one so I don't see the questions. Ask for interference of my ego to step out of the way and ask to be shown the correct answer to question 1, 2, 3, 4. It doesn't matter if you do them in correct sequence. If you get a different answer, sometimes it is an indication that the question is not worded correctly. Regardless review the question and see if you can ask a different way.
We now offer a further way to reduce your conscious influence by offering an Interactive Dowsing Service in our Dowsing Services section. For those of you who do not have access to a dowsing buddy this is a great alternative.

Based on this statement "Another way if you do not have a dowsing buddy or your dowsing buddy is not available then I write my questions on a blank index card. I then put the index card in a plain envelope. I shuffle the envelopes and then dowse over each envelope for the answer. This way I am blind dowsing and I am not influencing the answer I receive I am allowing the Universe to supply me with the most appropriate answer. Again I give thanks for my answers."
1. In the first sentence, should "questions" be replaced by "answers"? /
It can be, I often use the question and then dowse Yes or No but you can state the question as well and have the Yes/No/Maybe in the envelope or simply upside down. I like doing the question though as it is more varied. If I do the questions I can basically keep dowsing until I'm done. If you use Yes/No/Maybe etc cards then you have to stop after each dowse and open the envelope to see the answer. And I can easily dowse percentage or probability instead of yes/no in this way. Much easier to have an envelope with a question inside to dowse probability rather than a simple yes/no inside. But really, you do what feels best for you, I don't make the rules: You do! LOL
2. If so, are the answers on the cards possible answers to the same question?
Absolutely you can do it that way with variable answers other than yes/no/maybe on the cards and yes the answers could be appropriate for the same question.
3. If so, do you place each card with an answer in a separate envelope [seems sort of obvious, but I ask it for completeness]?
Yes I would place each card in a separate envelope and you could dowse completeness
4. If, so, would you direct the question to the first envelope by dowsing on it until you get a yes or no response?
What I would do if dowsing with answers in the envelopes is to basically position the envelopes in a 3 or more locations on the table, I would then dowse which envelope contained the correct answer. Much like I would dowse a fan chart. It is too slow to dowse over each envelope.
5. If you get a yes response for the first envelope, would you stop, unless you are looking for multiple answers?
Well if you are dowsing answers that are just yes/no/maybe then I would stop at Yes and then dowse what percentage of Yes
6. If you get a no to the question for the first envelope, would you then proceed to the second one and dowse for a yes/no response, and follow the process just described for the first envelope?
If the answers are in the envelope and you ask a question, if the answer to the question is No, there is no point in continuing to dowse? The answer is No. But if the questions are in the envelopes I would dowse every envelope and basically stick a different coloured flag on the envelope for yes/no etc. It will either make things more clear or confuse the heck out of me! LOL
Hope this helps.
